Marissa Tordoff

Marissa graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Alberta in 2003. After teaching english for three years overseas she returned to complete her law degree at the University of Alberta Law School in May, 2009.

At law school Marissa focused on criminal law, completing courses in Criminal Procedure, Sentencing, Advanced Criminal Law, Advanced Evidence, Constitutional Litigation and International Criminal Law. During law school she also volunteered with Student Legal Services, an organization staffed by law students who provide free legal representation to lower income individuals charged with summary conviction criminal offences. During the course of her work with Student Legal Services she also served as its Criminal Co-ordinator, overseeing a large staff of volunteer caseworkers.

Marissa successfully completed her student-at-law training at our firm and we are fortunate that she has stayed on with us a full time associate. She conducts a broadly based criminal defence practice, devoting all her time to courtroom litigation.
