Mary K. MacDonald

Mary MacDonald hails originally from Nova Scotia. She joined our firm as an articling student in 2006, remaining on as one of our associate lawyers.

Mary joined us from the world of academia and politics. She possesses a Ph.D. in political science, and lectured in that area for a number of years before joining the then Deputy Prime Minister of Canada and Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness as her Deputy Chief of Staff. During this period she took a break from Law School, completing her studies in 2006. She maintains involved in the political arena.

She is developing a general practice of criminal law, with a particular interest in Charter of Rights litigation. Her recent court experience has included a number of prosecutions on a contract basis for the justice department, and several mental health reviews for criminal remand patients at Alberta Hospital.

Mary is an member of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association.
