Accused pleaded guilty to impaired driving causing bodily harm and leaving the scene of an accident. Accused struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle on a highway. Injuries caused were limited to a separated shoulder along with various muscle tears. Victim also suffered psychological trauma.

Held: 90 days jail for impaired causing. 9 month CSO for leaving the scene.

Injuries caused where “nowhere as severe” as the injuries identified in various cases provided by the Crown which supported a range of jail of 18-24 months.
