Mona T. Duckett, Q.C.

Lawyer Biography


Mona served as a Bencher with the Law Society of Alberta from 2000 to 2006, finishing her tenure there as its president. She has been a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers since 2003, and is a current member and past president of the Criminal Trial Lawyers Association.

Mona lectures regularly for continuing legal education programs for lawyers, judges and police.  She has lectured as a sessional instructor in Advocacy at the University of Alberta Law School, in addition to Professional Responsibility and Advanced Criminal Law. She served for approximately 15 years as a member of the Faculty of the Federation of Canadian Law Societies , National Criminal Law Program. She has produced numerous criminal law papers over the course of her career, and is a co-author of the 2010 criminal text, Trial of Sexual Offences.
