Nearly three years after charges were laid, the client was acquitted of sexual assault, sexual interference, luring, indecent exposure, and unlawfully distributing cannabis to a minor following a four-day trial in the Court of King’s Bench Edmonton.

The Crown’s case alleged that the client groomed the complainant and then sexually assaulted her in his vehicle. During the trial, the complainant was subject to a lengthy cross-examination. Ultimately, the Court found that the complainant was unreliable and evasive during cross-examination and that the inconsistencies in her evidence led to a verdict of not guilty.
