Alexandra graduated from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Law in 2012 after receiving a B.A. from the University of Calgary in Political Science with a minor in History. During law school, Alexandra’s academic and extracurricular focus was on criminal law, advocacy, and constitutional issues, while volunteering with Student Legal Services to assist Edmonton’s low-income community. Alexandra was called to the bar in 2013 and completed her articles and 1st year as an associate lawyer with another Edmonton-based criminal defense firm where, in a very short time, she established a significant and growing criminal trial and appellate practice. Alexandra joined DDSG as an associate criminal lawyer in June of 2015. In her short time with our firm she has excelled in every aspect of criminal defence practice. We are very pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2017, Alexandra joined DDSG’s partnership group.
Alexandra is a sessional instructor with the University of Alberta Faculty of law, teaching Advanced Criminal Evidence. Alexandra also coaches the law school’s Sopinka Cup moot team, which is the country’s only national trial advocacy competition.
Alexandra sits on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Social Planning Council and volunteers with the Law Society of Alberta’s Assist program and the Elizabeth Fry Society.
Alexandra has represented individuals charged with various criminal offences, serious offences such as aggravated assault, sexual assault, and drug trafficking, along with offences such as impaired driving, assault, theft, weapons, drugs, and youth offences throughout the province of Alberta. Her focus is on Charter litigation and on ensuring that authorities respect your rights. Alexandra has accumulated significant trial experience.
Alexandra has also argued appeals before all levels of court, including the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Whether you are being investigated for a crime, charged with a criminal offence, or looking to conduct an appeal, Alexandra looks forward to assisting you.
