Alexandra K. Seaman

Alexandra was called to the bar in 2013 and completed her articles and 1st year as an associate lawyer with another Edmonton-based criminal defence firm where, in a very short time, she established a significant and growing criminal trial and appellate practice. Alexandra joined DDSG as an Associate in June of 2015. In her short time with our firm she has excelled in every aspect of criminal defence practice. In 2017 Alexandra joined DDSG’s partnership group as an Associate Partner and became a Senior Partner in September 2019.

Alexandra is a sessional instructor with the University of Alberta Faculty of law, teaching Advanced Criminal Evidence. Alexandra also coaches the law school’s Sopinka Cup moot team, which is the country’s only national trial advocacy competition.

Alexandra sits on the Board of Directors for the Edmonton Social Planning Council and volunteers with the Law Society of Alberta’s Assist program and the Elizabeth Fry Society.

Alexandra has accumulated significant trial experience in the defence of wide range of adult and young offender clients throughout the Province of Alberta, and has a particular interest in the following areas:

Alexandra has also argued appeals before all levels of court, including the Alberta Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
